On the back of your device
On iPhone 7 or older models, as well as iPads, you can find the model number on the back of the device. Under the font “iPhone” or “iPad” you will find 2-3 lines with very small text. Among them you will find a model number that starts with ‘A’, followed by four numbers. For example: A1456.

The main villain is that your mobile today needs to do more things and therefore requires more power. It is both your directory, your calendar, your bank, your TV, your computer – and not least your phone.
The more we wear on the battery, the shorter its life also. But how long does an average battery really last? Why does it lose potency? And how often is it necessary to change the battery in your mobile?
Will your iPad not charge, or is it just charging very slowly?
In this guide, we review the most common reasons why your iPad may have difficulty charging – or completely refuse to hold on to power. The checklist also gives you a number of specific tips on how to charge your battery quickly and gently.
5-step guide for if your iPad will not charge
1. Clean your charging socket of dirt and dust
First, check to see if your charging socket is dirty.
If it is full of dust, lint and other dirt, it can be difficult for your iPad to charge. If you have previously experienced that your iPad has
At Mobilopladere.dk, we recommend that you use a soft plastic toothpick to remove dirt from your charging socket. Soft plastic can not scratch or damage the receivers inside the plug.
If the dirt is too firmly attached, we recommend that you take it to a mobile and tablet repairer. They have experience and special equipment that can be used to remove dirt without damaging your tablet.
2. Check your charger – socket, adapter and cable
If your iPad does not want to charge, it does not necessarily mean that there is something wrong with it.
There may also be something wrong with the charger itself.
An iPad charger actually consists of three components:
An energy source – eg socket, computer or power bank
A lightning cable (iPad / Air / Mini / Pro 1. & 2) or USB-C cable (iPad Pro 3. and newer)
An iPad adapter
It is a good idea to check each item separately so you can find out if something is broken.
We always recommend that you choose an MFi charger. “MFi” stands for “Made for iPhone / iPad.” All MFi equipment is certified by Apple itself for use with their products. If you use an unauthorized or non-certified charger, you may be in poor quality.
If your iPad is charging slowly, it may also be because you are using an adapter with too low a voltage / watt.
If you use a traditional 5W adapter that you get with your iPhone, the iPad will also charge more slowly. Newer iPads also have fast charging. This makes them charge faster with adapters that have a higher voltage than the one you got when you bought your iPad.
3. Restart your iPad – Power on or off
The problem can also often lie in your iPad’s software. In that case, it can often be fixed with a reboot.
If there is still power on the iPad, you can turn it on and off as usual. If, on the other hand, the screen is frozen or you are experiencing other problems, you can try a “Hard Reset / Forced Restart”.
On older iPads, you do this by holding down the power button and the home button simultaneously for a few seconds.
If you are using a newer iPad without the home button, press and hold the “Volume up” button quickly, then press “Volume down” and release it again. Finally, hold down the power button until the device restarts.
4. Turn off your iPad while charging
If your iPad displays a charger icon next to your battery level – but it still loses power while charging – you may be using too much power.
There can be a number of different processes running in the background, which helps to drain your iPad of power. Or you may be using it while charging. If the problem is here, the solution is simple: turn off your iPad while it is charging.
5. If nothing else helps – order a repair
If your iPad still will not charge, it’s probably time for a repair.
The problem will often be with your mobile battery. It typically costs a few hundred kroner to get replaced. But after that, your iPad should work like new.
